About

SoutH2 Corridor is a renewable energy company specializing in Hydrogen.

The SoutH2 Corridor is a major European hydrogen infrastructure project comprising 3,300 km of dedicated pipelines and repurposed natural gas infrastructure. It connects renewable hydrogen production regions in North Africa with demand clusters across Italy, Austria, and Germany. The corridor consists of multiple sub-projects including the Italian H2 Backbone (2,300 km), TAG H2 Readiness pipeline system (380 km in Austria), Gas Connect Austria's H2 Backbone WAG Penta-West, and HyPipe Bavaria. The initiative leverages mostly existing repurposed gas pipelines to minimize costs while incorporating new dedicated infrastructure where necessary. With import capacity of over 4 million tonnes per year from North Africa, it addresses 40% of the REPowerEU import target and facilitates security of supply through connections to storage facilities. The corridor is recognized as a Project of Common Interest under EU TEN-E Regulation and has received political endorsement from the Energy Ministries of Austria, Germany, and Italy.
