SuPerTandem is a 36-month Horizon Europe research project (October 2022 – September 2025, €4.93M funding) comprising 15 leading organizations from 8 countries. The consortium includes top research institutions (Fraunhofer ISE, Empa, TNO, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, CEA), universities (TU/e), and industrial partners (Saule Technologies, SALD, 3D-Micromac, FLUXiM, TECNALIA) working to advance perovskite photovoltaic technology. The project focuses on developing upscalable manufacturing processes for efficient, cost-competitive, and environmentally sustainable 2-terminal tandem cells and monolithically connected modules using solution-processed perovskite absorber layers on flexible foils. Key objectives include achieving device efficiencies above 30%, establishing low-cost large-area fabrication technology, and demonstrating roll-to-roll manufacturing capabilities. Applications target building-integrated photovoltaics, vehicle integration, and agrivoltaics.
