Svensk Bioenergi (Svebio) is a branch organization for the Swedish bioenergy industry, comprising around 300 members across the entire production chain, from large forest corporations to local heating plants, forest entrepreneurs, and independent consultants. The organization serves as a unifying force and meeting place for all entities working with bioenergy. Key activities include organizing recurring conferences such as the Nordic Pellets Conference and Nordic Baltic Bioenergy Conference; publishing Bioenergi magazine and Bioenergy International; conducting research and development projects with support from the Swedish Energy Agency; advocating for policy measures including carbon taxation and emissions trading; and disseminating knowledge about bioenergy's significance for Swedish energy supply. Svebio participates actively in Bioenergy Europe and the World Bioenergy Association, and represents Sweden in two International Energy Agency Bioenergy working groups (T40 on global biofuel trade and T39 on biofuels). The organization's vision is to develop bioenergy in a sustainable society and achieve a 100% renewable energy system where different renewable energy sources interact.
