SPL Tri Berry Nivernais is a local public company (SPL) established to promote renewable energy projects and waste valorization on the territory. The facility receives approximately 30 trucks of selective collection daily from 15 collectivities. The waste treatment process spans over 1.2 kilometers, utilizing machines to separate, route, and consolidate materials. Recyclable materials (steel, aluminum, cardboard, paper, and most plastics) are separated, processed, and conditioned into bales for resale to manufacturers. Non-recyclable waste (approximately one quarter of collected materials) is eliminated via incineration, converting these materials into energy for heat production. The company also collaborates with Citeo on territorial campaigns to combat sorting contamination across Indre, Cher, and Nièvre.
