About

Founded in 2022, TULIPS is a ngo headquartered in Schiphol, Netherlands specializing in Hydrogen, Energy Storage.

TULIPS (DemonsTrating lower pollUting soLutions for sustaInable airPorts acrosS Europe) is a Horizon 2020 research and innovation project led by Royal Schiphol Group and supported by €25 million in EU funding. The consortium operates across four lighthouse airports—Amsterdam Schiphol, Oslo Avinor, Cyprus Larnaca, and Torino—implementing 17 demonstrator projects focused on sustainable aviation technologies. Key initiatives include hydrogen ground power units (H2-GPU), modular electric aircraft charging systems, iron flow batteries for energy storage, liquid hydrogen refueling infrastructure, hydrogen-powered ground support equipment, ultrafine particle mitigation, circular waste management systems, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) infrastructure. The project aims to contribute to zero-emissions and zero-waste airports by 2030 and climate-neutral aviation by 2050.
