Founded in 2022, UPCELL is a non-profit headquartered in Paris, France with approximately 11-50 employees specializing in Energy Storage.

Upcell Alliance is a non-profit association governed by French law, established in November 2022. It is a purpose-driven organization focused on accelerating growth and innovation in the global battery manufacturing industry. The alliance brings together approximately 120 European and international players from the industrial and academic sectors of the electric battery value chain, including battery manufacturers, machine builders, chemical and materials suppliers, universities, research centers, and public institutions. Upcell aims to create a unique European battery ecosystem that reduces dependence on imported batteries and ensures industrial autonomy. The organization operates through multiple initiatives: Upcell Lab, a collaborative space for machine builders to showcase capabilities; Upcell University, focusing on workforce training; and Upcell Turnkey Solutions, connecting equipment providers with manufacturers. The alliance facilitates networking, partnership development, joint innovation projects, and strategic collaboration across the entire battery supply chain to position Europe as a global leader in electric battery manufacturing by 2030.
