V2G-Quests is a research-oriented project that guides Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology into urban Positive Energy Districts (PEDs), prioritizing inclusivity and environmental resilience. The project employs a multidisciplinary approach combining engineering, social sciences, geography, legal studies, and management to integrate electric vehicles as collective energy storage units for stabilizing local power networks. Key objectives include assessing V2G impacts on district and regional scales, identifying and overcoming technical, regulatory, and social barriers to adoption, developing policy frameworks and profitable business models, and creating actionable guidelines for scaling V2G across diverse urban contexts. The project operates pilot programs in three neighborhoods: Kanaleneiland (Utrecht, Netherlands), Annelinn (Tartu, Estonia), and a district in Portugal. It aims to democratize V2G technology, ensure equitable access to clean energy transitions, and achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions from private and shared cars in participating districts.
