West Scales Wind Farm Limited, a subsidiary of Eurowind Energy Limited, is developing the West Scales Energy Park near Gretna, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The project comprises up to four wind turbines (up to 200m blade tip height), a solar photovoltaic array covering up to 44 hectares, and a potential Battery Energy Storage System (up to 12MW). Total capacity is approximately 36.8MW. The project is designed to supply clean energy to approximately 29,400 UK homes annually while offsetting approximately 43,500 tonnes of CO2 per year. Eurowind Energy, headquartered in Hobro, Denmark, operates across 16 countries with approximately 600 employees. The company is 50% owned by Holdings Aps and 50% by Norlys, Denmark's largest integrated energy and telecom group. Eurowind Energy develops, constructs, and operates wind, solar photovoltaic, and Power to X assets across Europe and the USA. A Community Benefit Fund of £5,000 per installed megawatt of wind per year, index-linked for the operational lifetime, will support local priorities.
