About

Founded in 2023, WIN@Sea is a ngo headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark specializing in Wind.

WIN@Sea (Wind energy and Nature-based solutions integrated at sea) is a collaborative research project led by Aarhus University in partnership with Vattenfall, DTU, University of Copenhagen, Kerteminde Seafarm, and Kattegatcentret. The project investigates how fossil-free offshore wind energy production can be integrated with sustainable aquaculture (seaweed and mussel farming) in the same marine area while improving marine environment and biodiversity. Activities take place at Kriegers Flak, Scandinavia's largest wind farm, located 15-40 km east of Møn. The project develops guidelines for multi-use platforms on marine areas and monitors biodiversity impacts through artificial reef structures and advanced marine monitoring equipment. Funded by VELUX Foundation (5 million DKK), AAGE V. JENSEN Nature Fund (2.5 million DKK), and EU OLAMUR lighthouse project (11 million DKK).
