About
Founded in 2020, WindEXT is a renewable energy company specializing in Wind.
WindEXT is an EU-funded project (Erasmus Programme) launched in January 2020 and completed in December 2022. The project develops comprehensive training for wind turbine operation and maintenance personnel across Europe. It combines a Moodle learning platform with four integrated digital tools: WExSiM (VR simulator for maintenance tasks), WExLaB (MATLAB-based wind turbine design and analysis), WExViR (virtual tours of wind turbine components using 360-degree imagery), and CaDWEx (damage chain analysis software for gearbox fault diagnosis). The training course covers wind turbine technology fundamentals, maintenance procedures (preventive, predictive, corrective), health and safety, repowering strategies, and lifetime extension techniques. The project consortium includes 11 partners from 6 countries, with pilot testing conducted at vocational centers, universities, and industrial companies across Europe and Latin America. All intellectual outputs are available under Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND license.
