About
Founded in 2020, Windpark Beuningen is a co-op headquartered in Beuningen, Netherlands specializing in Wind.
Windpark Beuningen is a wind energy development project located in the municipality of Beuningen in Gelderland, Netherlands. The project is jointly developed by three key stakeholders: EnergieVoorVier (a local energy cooperative representing residents), Eneco Wind (a major renewable energy company), and Kemperman&Partners Projecten (a renewable energy project developer and consultant). The windpark will consist of five wind turbines, each with a maximum height of 245 meters, positioned south of the A73 highway and west and east of the A50. The project aims to generate renewable electricity for approximately 15,000 to 20,000 households and contribute to the municipality's goal of becoming energy-neutral by 2040. Community participation is a cornerstone of the project, with EnergieVoorVier holding 50% ownership to represent local residents' interests. The project underwent extensive environmental impact assessments examining landscape, noise, shadow flicker, soil contamination, ecology, safety, archaeology, water management, and infrastructure. As of 2024, the project is in the permitting phase with ongoing proceedings before the Dutch Council of State (Raad van State) regarding the zoning plan and permits.
