About
Founded in 2013, Women in Geothermal is a ngo headquartered in Turkey with approximately 50-200 employees specializing in Geothermal.
Women in Geothermal (WING) is a global volunteer organization established in October 2013 at the Geothermal Resources Council Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. The organization represents professionals across all disciplines and facets of the geothermal industry, including science, engineering, legal, regulatory, business, financial, and government roles. WING operates through local country chapters coordinated by appointed ambassadors and a rotating global operations team that changes every three years coinciding with the World Geothermal Congress. The organization is structured on principles of local presence and global connection, serving as an Institutional Member of the International Geothermal Association. Key initiatives include the Future Leaders Cohort program launched in 2020 for mid-career women advancement, annual Global WING awards established in 2017, and cultural change training programs. WING actively works to eliminate gender bias, facilitate anti-harassment policy adoption, and increase women's participation in leadership roles across geothermal organizations worldwide.
