Founded in 2023, XL-CONNECT is a renewable energy company specializing in Energy Storage.
XL-CONNECT is a 42-month European research project (January 2023 – June 2026) funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe. The project focuses on optimizing on-demand charging solutions for electric vehicles through V1G/V2G/V2X technologies. Key objectives include developing predictive digital twins, advanced smart charging technologies and control strategies, optimal charging networks considering human and economic factors, and demonstrating concepts in Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Portugal. The project aims to reduce grid energy exchange by 50% through integration with renewable energy sources and create grid stability while accommodating 30-40 million battery-powered EVs expected in the EU by 2030. Project coordinates multiple stakeholders including energy providers, vehicle manufacturers, mobility service providers, and end users to ensure mutual benefits across the entire charging chain.
