About
Founded in 2024, Zepalliance is a co-op specializing in Energy Storage.
ZEPA (Zero Emission Port Alliance) is a cross-value-chain strategic alliance dedicated to accelerating the adoption of battery-electric container handling equipment (BE-CHE) in ports. The alliance focuses on making BE-CHE affordable and accessible by 2030, addressing the need to decarbonize approximately 120,000 container handling equipment units globally. ZEPA operates through four workstreams: developing and updating voluntary design standards for battery-electric equipment, creating transition plans and toolkits for fleet electrification, designing financing solutions and business models, and developing power infrastructure best practices. The alliance brings together terminal operators, container handling equipment manufacturers, port authorities, and other stakeholders to tackle specific adoption challenges through collaborative action. The Secretariat is managed by Systemiq, and operations are governed by a Steering Committee with external legal oversight from K&L Gates.
