Zhyron is a renewable energy company specializing in Hydrogen.
Zhyron is a European Union-funded initiative coordinated by CIRCE that aims to develop innovative circular economy solutions for the steel industry. The project focuses on valorizing steelmaking by-products (EAF dust, BOF sludges, mill scales) through hydrogen-based thermal reduction combined with hydrometallurgical processes. The consortium includes large enterprises, SMEs, and research organizations from 6 EU countries. Three demonstrator sites are planned in Sweden, Belgium, and Germany to validate: hydrogen-based recycling of zinc-rich by-products, zinc extraction and recovery, and wastewater treatment. The project targets cost reductions of at least 10% for Fe- and Zn-derived products and 15-25% energy savings compared to traditional recycling methods, supporting the EU's carbon neutrality goal by 2050.
