AOTECH is a Bilbao-based technology company, a spin-off of the Applied Photonics Group of the University of the Basque Country. It develops optical sensors and NIR spectroscopy-based monitoring platforms for industrial processes. Its AONIR platform provides in-line, real-time measurement of product composition such as fat, protein and moisture, and is applied in the food industry, including dairy, with dairy-specific projects in yogurt standardisation and cheese production optimisation (OPT2CHEESE). The company also offers an IoT platform with blockchain-based traceability (BlockOptical), and development and maintenance of predictive models. Its activities extend to aeronautical engine monitoring and to the chemical and water sectors.
