Founded in 2007 and originating in commercial telecoms, the company supplies RF and microwave subsystems for defence, particularly electronic warfare, counter-UAS and tactical communications, and works with defence primes. Its products include SOSA aligned / OpenVPX RF modules focused on size, weight and power reduction and fast upgrades. The company also provides manufacturing services (build-to-print, kitting, export and supply chain), product repair and life support for OEM and multi-vendor equipment, and telecom products such as filters, combiners and tower mounted amplifiers. Its UK and Indian sites are approved by telecom OEMs, mobile network operators and defence primes, and it is registered on the MOD JOSCAR supplier register. The Ministry of Defence selected Radio Design for its Defence Supplier Capability Development Programme (DSCDP).
