UK Docks Marine Services is a family-owned ship repair and marine services company founded in 1992 by Harry Wilson on the River Tyne in South Shields, which remains its headquarters. It operates dry docks, afloat repair berths and specialist boat repair facilities at several sites across the UK, including South Shields, Teesside, Gosport and Cremyll in Cornwall. The company provides vessel repair, refit, conversion, construction, upgrades and ship life extension work for the marine, offshore and defence sectors. Its defence work includes long-standing through-life support contracts for the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Navy, including the servicing of Royal Navy workboats, MoD police boats and Pac 24 rigid inflatable boats. The company also holds a contract to service and maintain Royal Navy vessels and has carried out work for the Bangladesh Navy. It is the sole UK and Ireland sales and service agent for Brunvoll AS thruster systems and has worked with Steerprop since 2007. UK Docks also serves commercial, leisure and private vessel owners, including police boats, pilot vessels, survey vessels and ferries.
