A World of Friends, Sweden is a non-profit aid organisation founded in 1994 that works at grassroots level to improve health, education and economic standards for children and women. It runs a sponsorship programme, a children's home and schools in Biadan, Ghana, and sponsorship, evening schools and women's projects in Orikkai and Illupapattu in Tamil Nadu, southern India. Its work is carried out through local subsidiaries in Ghana and India. The Swedish board works on a voluntary basis, and the organisation reports administrative costs of around 4-7% of income. Funding comes from member fees, sponsors, Swedish school children, companies and private donors. It is a member-based association with around 200 paying members and holds the 90-konto approval from Svensk Insamlingskontroll.
