AbilNova Cooperativa Sociale is a social cooperative founded in 2008 in Trento, Trentino, Italy. It is a reference centre for sensory disability, covering both visual and hearing impairment, and is the national lead of a group that includes Associazione Progresso Ciechi, Fondazione Lucia Guderzo, Tiflosystem, Soluzioni 104 and Freevision. Its services include prevention and rehabilitation at an accredited visual rehabilitation centre, assistive technology through its ausilioteca, school inclusion support, sign language interpreting (LIS), transport for people with disabilities, training, and awareness activities such as dark dinners and the Dark on the Road truck. Its mobile ophthalmic unit provides free vision screenings across Italy. The cooperative works with schools, public bodies, health services and local businesses, and is funded in part through the 5x1000 tax allocation.
