Adaana
Quart de Poblet, Valencia, Spain
About
Founded in 2008, Adaana is a non-profit association based in Quart de Poblet, Spain working on animal welfare.
ADAANA is a non-profit animal welfare association legally founded in 2008 and based in the Valencian Community, Spain. Run largely by volunteers, it rescues abandoned animals, provides their veterinary care, and places them for adoption, mainly in the Valencia region, with some adoptions in other areas through local partner associations. Adopters must be adults resident in Spain, complete an application, a pre-adoption home visit and a contract, and pay an adoption fee that contributes to veterinary costs. The association also runs educational talks in schools and summer schools, aiming to reduce animal abandonment. It has no shelter of its own; animals are housed in private foster homes and canine residences, and it operates a solidarity shop and accepts sponsorship and membership to fund its work.
