ADENORMA is a Portuguese Instituição Particular de Solidariedade Social (IPSS) and public-utility entity, founded in 1994 in the municipality of São Vicente on the north coast of Madeira. Its mission is to promote humanitarian, cultural, educational and scientific activities that value the human person and combat social exclusion. Its early work responded to housing fragility in São Vicente families, and it later developed community centres, services for older people and food support programmes. Its main activities include telecare and home-based cognitive stimulation for seniors, physical exercise classes in day centres, emergency food aid in partnership with the regional social security institute, vocational training, a Humanitude care methodology programme with training and conferences for carers, and the Natureza Rica jam-making project. The organisation operates mainly in the municipalities of São Vicente and Porto Moniz and has extended its work to other municipalities of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
