ADRA Finland is a Finnish development cooperation and aid foundation, the Finnish member of the international ADRA network, which operates in more than 120 countries. The foundation was established in 2010 by the Finnish Seventh-day Adventist Church, and its roots in social work in Finland date back to 1968. It runs international development projects in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, focusing on education, entrepreneurship, food security, disability inclusion, and the rights of women, girls and children. Domestically, it provides food and clothing aid to people on low incomes, distributes surplus food, runs soup kitchens and second-hand shops, and supports integration of immigrants. It also responds to humanitarian emergencies abroad through the ADRA network and funds its work largely through the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the annual Sympatia public collection. Activities are carried out with local congregations and partner organisations.
