AFFESTIM

Founded in 2003, AFFESTIM is a non-profit association based in Trois-Rivières, Canada working on gender equality, science & research, education.

AFFESTIM is a non-profit association founded in 2003 and officially launched on 31 October 2003 in Trois-Rivières, Québec. It brings together individuals and organisations across the French-speaking world (francophonie) to promote the participation, retention and advancement of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Its work includes encouraging women in STEM, recognising their research, promoting innovative practices in workplaces and education, building a network of mentors and role models, producing scientific opinions on women in STEM, and carrying out interdisciplinary research. Its members are drawn from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec. The association is based at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
