AFIR Galati

Founded in 2004, AFIR Galati is a non-profit association based in Galați, Romania working on gender equality, employment & skills, children & youth.

AFIR Galați is the Galați branch of the Asociația Femeilor Întreprinzătoare din România, a non-governmental, non-profit, apolitical association founded in 2004 and based on volunteering. It works in Galați, Romania, to promote women's entrepreneurship, private business initiative and women's access to positions of responsibility. Its activities include organising educational courses, seminars, mentoring, networking events and business conferences such as the Lideri cu Stil conference, lobbying local and national authorities for the fair representation of women in decision-making roles, and running an information system on areas of interest to entrepreneurs. The association also supports community initiatives, including a campaign that funded a nebulizer for the Galați Railway Hospital, and runs the T.U.V. Tabăra Urbană de Vară summer camp for adolescents. Its stated values are respect, integrity, work ethics and contribution, and its vision is that entrepreneurial education can help people and communities become prosperous. Membership is open to women entrepreneurs, business owners and companies that promote women in management, through written application.
