The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) is an international non-profit organisation working since 2004 to support the development of artisanal and small-scale mining communities worldwide. It created the Fairmined standard and seal, which certify gold from responsible artisanal and small-scale mining organisations that meet standards for responsible practices, traceability, environmental care and community development. Through the Sustainable Mines Program, it helps small-scale miners improve their operations and social conditions. Miners certified to the standard receive a fair price and a premium, and the certification supports licensed brands and authorised suppliers that sell Fairmined gold, including jewellery companies and other industry buyers.
