Animalife is a national non-profit association in Portugal, founded in October 2011, that works to prevent pet abandonment by addressing its causes. It supports low-income families and homeless people who have animals, provides food, veterinary care and temporary foster placements, and supports animal protection associations and groups with goods and veterinary care. Its flagship Banco Solidário Animal campaign collects food for animals through supermarket chains, and it runs local service centres and coordinators across the country. Donations are tax-deductible and the organisation holds public utility status (Estatuto de Utilidade Pública).
