ARCADYS

ARCADYS is a non-profit animal protection association founded in 1993 in Valencia, Spain. It works to promote ethical treatment of animals and their right to dignified treatment, based on justice rather than compassion. Its activities include companion animal education courses, animal-assisted therapy, pet adoption support, school awareness talks, a virtual pet cemetery, a legacy scheme for pets, and campaigns such as the Declaration of Animal Rights. It is run by a volunteer board, is politically independent, and is funded by member fees, donations and income-generating activities. It is registered as a volunteer entity in the Valencian Community and is an accredited collaborator with the regional agriculture department.
