About

Archintorno is an Italian not-for-profit organisation founded in Naples in 2005 by architects who wanted to combine architecture and international cooperation. It develops and promotes architectural projects linked to self-construction, recovery and community self-development, often using natural materials, low-tech methods and reused waste materials. Its DesignBuild Studio model brings European architecture students together with Mexican communities to co-design and build projects, and it also works on public space revitalisation and heritage promotion in Montesanto, Naples, through the Le Scalze coordination. Archintorno is Italy's representative in the European DesignBuild Studio Knowledge Network.
