The Asociația Convențională a Avocaților (ACAv) is a Romanian association of practising lawyers based in Bucharest. It promotes and defends the professional, social and cultural rights and interests of lawyers, and provides continuing professional training and support for trainee and newly qualified lawyers. It also runs public-facing activities, including the annual Simularea Parlamentului României for young people, legal education in schools, and public advocacy on the functioning of the justice system, the rule of law and democracy, such as open letters to judicial bodies and the Senate on court overload. The association is presented as an independent, non-partisan civic organisation.
