Associação Ilha das Crianças (AIC) is a non-profit association in Amoreiras, Itaparica island, Bahia, Brazil. It supports children, adolescents, young people and their families in vulnerable communities through education, culture, sport, healthy meals, social assistance and psychosocial support. Activities take place in a converted former guesthouse of about 4,000 m² and include workshops, a choir, an audiovisual collective, a sustainable agroforestry garden and a sponsorship (padrinhagem) scheme. The project was officially launched in 2010 as an initiative of WCTAG Hilft e.V., with the Fundação Bijou Brigitte as its main funder. The organisation accepts volunteers, donations, corporate partnerships and legacies, and is committed to child protection and financial transparency.
