It mobilises volunteers, particularly people aged 55 and over, to carry out social solidarity and development cooperation projects in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) and other countries. Its work spans educational, health, cultural, economic, social, environmental and civic cooperation areas, including mentoring, knowledge sharing, intergenerational initiatives and human rights promotion linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. The association also runs fundraising campaigns and projects that donors can finance, and it offers a tax-deductible route for donations in Portugal.
