About
Founded in 1981, Atlas-alliansen is a non-profit network based in Oslo, Norway working on disability, human rights, international development +5 more.
Atlas-alliansen is the umbrella organisation for Norwegian organisations of persons with disabilities working internationally. Established by disabled people's own organisations in 1981 and based in Oslo, it works to promote the rights and living conditions of people with disabilities in low-income countries and the Global South. It supports disabled people's organisations and their partner organisations through grants, funded largely by Norad and the Postkodelotteriet and the TV-aksjonen telethon. It also conducts advocacy on disability inclusion in Norwegian and international development and humanitarian policy, and offers training and advisory services to Norwegian and international aid organisations. Its thematic areas include inclusive education, health and rehabilitation, work and income, crisis and conflict, and human rights. The alliance works in several African and Asian countries and, from 2026, in Ukraine and Palestine.
