AURPIA

Founded in 1985, AURPIA is a non-profit association based in Vila Nogueira de Azeitão, Portugal working on elderly care, health, community development.

AURPIA, Associação Unitária dos Reformados, Pensionistas e Idosos de Azeitão, is a Portuguese social solidarity institution and public-utility association founded in 1985 and based in Vila Nogueira de Azeitão. It works in social action, giving priority support to the most disadvantaged elderly people through a range of services, including medical and nursing assistance, rehabilitation and gait training, personal hygiene and laundry, meals, transport, and recreational, cultural and intergenerational activities. Its services are aimed at users of its facilities, and it runs holiday and community initiatives in the Azeitão area. Donations are accepted directly and through the Portuguese IRS personal income tax allocation scheme.
