Barnmissionen is a Christian aid organisation based in Sweden that carries out humanitarian and development work for children, young people and families living in poverty. Its aid focuses on education, health and self-help support in several countries, including the Philippines, Moldova, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Malawi and Zambia. Barnmissionen funds part of its work through Öppna Hjärtat Second Hand, a network of secondhand shops in southern Sweden. The shops accept donated clothes, furniture and household goods and send surplus clothing as humanitarian aid, and all shop profits go to Barnmissionen's aid work. The organisation also relies on volunteers and offers free collection of larger donations from private individuals and companies.
