About
Founded in 2004, Betel Finland Ry is a charity based in Vantaa, Finland working on addiction.
Betel Finland Ry is a Finnish Christian non-profit association that runs a free residential rehabilitation centre for people struggling with addiction, including alcohol and drug dependency. It is part of the international Betel movement, which began in Spain. The association aims to help people recover and rebuild their lives through a community-based approach in which residents take part in daily household work, and staff are often former residents who have completed the programme. Residents join voluntarily for set periods, and there are no paid employees in the homes. Participation in the centre's Christian-based activities is mandatory during rehabilitation, and substance use, smoking and substitute medication are not allowed. The association is funded by donations and aims to be financially independent. It was established in 2004 and has homes in the Helsinki region and Riihimäki.
