Boligforeningen Søbo

Boligforeningen Søbo is a non-profit housing association (almene boligorganisation) in Sønderborg, Denmark. It administers and builds affordable social rental housing in Sønderborg Municipality, managing around 1,800 tenancies across 38 housing departments (afdelinger). Its housing includes family homes and homes for older people, both detached and in apartment blocks, with some properties in towns such as Augustenborg, Fynshav, Høruphav, Skovby, Tandslet and Lysabild. The association was founded in 1949 as Sønderborg Sociale Boligselskab, renamed Boligforeningen SØBO in 1978, and merged with Boligforeningen ASBO in 2015. Its governing body and representative assembly are elected by residents. The association also runs the co-founded rental portal Syddanskbolig.dk, which lists over 2,300 homes in Sønderborg Municipality, and is developing new housing at Bülowsvej and Nordvesthavnsvej.
