About
Founded in 1983, Bosques del Mundo is a non-governmental organisation based in Aarhus C, Denmark working on nature & wildlife conservation, environment & climate, human rights.
Bosques del Mundo, known in Danish as Verdens Skove, is a Danish non-profit organisation founded in 1983 by biology students as the Regnskovsgruppen Nepenthes. It works to conserve and protect forests, especially tropical rainforests, and their biodiversity, and to stop deforestation and its CO2 emissions. Its practical projects are carried out with local partners, Indigenous Peoples and forest-dependent communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Brazil. In Denmark it works to restore wild forests and promote nature conservation through political initiatives and public awareness. The organisation also runs policy work aimed at influencing forest, land-use and climate legislation at local, regional, EU and global levels. It is funded largely by its members, individual donors, corporate partnerships and product sales, and it has around 6,000 members. The organisation is a strategic partner of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
