BYA

BYA is a non-profit association based in Kista, Sweden working on employment & skills, education, science & research.

BYA is an ideell förening (non-profit association) in Sweden that develops the security guarding profession. It is owned jointly by the employer organisation Säkerhetsföretagen and the union Svenska Transportarbetareförbundet. BYA runs training for security personnel, including the Väktargrundutbildning (VU1 and VU2), skyddsvakt, ordningsvakt, hundförare, butikskontrollant and personskyddsväktare courses, as well as periodic refresher training. Some courses are open to private individuals after an application, personality test and interview. BYA also runs occupational health and safety work for the sector, including the GIA system and safety courses, and manages the industry's protective vest specification. Courses are delivered from Kista, with other course locations including Gothenburg and Lund. The organisation is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
