Carl-Göran Adelswärds stiftelse is a Swedish foundation established in 2014 through a testamentary bequest by Carl-Göran Adelswärd, with an initial endowment of 25 million SEK. Its purpose is to promote scholarly research into the history of Swedish manor house culture (herrgårdskultur) and the history of Swedish forest use. It awards grants for research, publication and symposium activities at universities, academies, research institutes, societies and associations, and to independent researchers producing qualified studies for books or articles. Grants include working stipends, direct project costs, and printing and symposium contributions, and are normally not used for institutional salaries, premises or overheads. Applications are primarily from individuals and organisations active in Sweden and are due each year on 15 November, with decisions in the spring. The foundation also organises symposia, colloquia and seminars on topics such as forest disasters, manor house history and the cultural values of forests, and publishes a list of past grant recipients. Its activities are based in Stockholm and are carried out with academic institutions and heritage bodies across Sweden.
