Centro Social de Chorente

Centro Social de Chorente is a charity based in Chorente, Portugal working on community development, children & youth, elderly care.

The Associação Social Cultural e Recreativa de Chorente is a Portuguese Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS), registered in 2001 and based in Chorente, Barcelos. It runs the Centro Social de Chorente, which provides a nursery and baby room for young children, a day centre for older people, and meal services for schools in neighbouring parishes. The organisation aims to respond to the needs of the local population and emerging social issues in Chorente and surrounding parishes, and also runs cultural and recreational activities. It accepts donations from individuals and companies, issues donation receipts, and is a beneficiary of the IRS tax allocation (consignação).
