It works to advance cancer surgery in Turkey by organising annual congresses, symposia and workshops, offering training and bursaries for surgeons and young specialists, publishing scientific journals and bulletins, and developing clinical guidelines. It also supports patients and their relatives and provides public information on cancer. Its membership includes surgical oncologists and trainees in surgical oncology.
