About
Climate Cent Foundation is a grant-making foundation based in Zürich, Switzerland working on environment & climate.
The Climate Cent Foundation is a voluntary climate protection foundation set up by the Swiss business community. Funded from a levy of 1.5 cents per litre on petrol and diesel imports between 2005 and 2012, it invests in negative emissions technologies in Switzerland and abroad and funds climate protection programmes abroad whose emission reductions can be credited toward Switzerland's Kyoto and climate targets. Resulting certificates are handed over to the Swiss Confederation free of charge. Its current mandate runs until 2030, with funds invested mainly in negative emissions technologies.
