Asociación Comité de Emergencia Español
Madrid, Spain
About
Founded in 2017, Comité de Emergencia is a non-profit network based in Madrid, Spain working on humanitarian aid & disaster relief.
The Comité de Emergencia is a Spanish association created in 2017 that brings together international NGOs, media companies, businesses and private citizens to channel solidarity toward humanitarian emergencies. Its members are seven international NGOs specialised in humanitarian aid: Acción contra el Hambre, Aldeas Infantiles SOS, Educo, Médicos del Mundo, Oxfam Intermon, Plan International and World Vision. When an emergency is declared and enough member NGOs need funds for it, the committee activates an appeal, collects donations through its website, SMS and other channels, and distributes the funds among the member NGOs, which report back on how the money is used. The committee has also supported responses to the war in Ukraine, the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the crisis in the Middle East and the DANA floods in Spain. It is part of the Emergency Appeals Alliance, an international network of 12 members. Donors can claim tax deductions on their contributions. The committee operates from Madrid, Spain.
