About

Founded in 2016, Community Initiatives Agenda is a non-governmental organisation based in Kenya working on children & youth, education, employment & skills.

Community Initiatives Agenda (CIA) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation founded in 2016 that focuses on early childhood development in Kenya. It supports children under four and their caregivers, particularly young mothers, in arid and semi-arid communities of Kajiado County, where many residents are Maasai. Its work includes caregiver training, welfare support, parenting programmes, a mobile library at a public primary school, and scholarships that help young mothers attend Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TIVET) institutions. The organisation is developing a childcare centre and training academy in Kenya, intended to offer quality early childhood care and skills training, with fee-based programmes for families who can pay to help fund its charitable work. It partners with TIVET institutions across Kenya.
