Cooperativa Sociale GEA is a social cooperative (onlus, registered in the regional register of social cooperatives in sections A and B) based in Nepi, in the Lazio region of Italy. It designs and manages social, welfare, educational and intercultural services for people, with a focus on the promotion and valorisation of each person, respecting diversity. Its services include municipal nursery schools in the provinces of Viterbo, Rome and Rieti, anti-violence support for women, specialist educational support for young people with special educational needs, services for people with disabilities, support for family carers, summer camps for children, and integrated theatre and craft workshops for social and work inclusion. The cooperative was founded in Nepi in 1998 by groups of operators with experience in disability support, home care and educational and recreational activities for children and young people. It works closely with municipalities, public institutions and other local bodies, and states that it seeks to represent the needs of the most vulnerable people to institutions. It also runs a whistleblowing channel in line with Italian Legislative Decree 24/2023 and has a gender equality policy based on UNI/PdR 125:2022.
