Dansk ICYE

Founded in 1972, Dansk ICYE is a non-profit association based in Aarhus C, Denmark working on children & youth, peace & conflict.

Dansk ICYE is a non-profit youth organisation in Denmark and the Danish member of the ICYE Federation, which has existed since 1949. It runs intercultural volunteer exchange programmes that send young Danes abroad and host young volunteers from other countries, aiming to break down cultural barriers and promote understanding and peace. Its programmes are ICYE, STePs and ESC Individual Volunteering, with placements in more than 40 countries. Participants pay a fee within a solidarity model, under which part of the payment supports young people from partner countries to come to Denmark. The association is run largely by volunteers and young members, with a secretariat in Aarhus. Membership is required to apply and costs 75 DKK per year.
