København K, Denmark
About
Founded in 1976, Danske Kunsthåndværkere & Designere is a non-profit association based in København K, Denmark working on arts & culture, employment & skills.
Danske Kunsthåndværkere & Designere (DKoD) is the professional association for craft artists and designers in Denmark, founded in 1976 and with around 500 members across five regional departments. The association supports members' professional and working conditions through legal advice, networking, discounts, further training and cultural-policy work. It also promotes Danish craft and design to the public through exhibitions, markets and talks. Its activities include running Officinet, an artist-driven exhibition space in Copenhagen; organising the Frue Plads Marked craft market; co-organising CRAFT FAIR Vejen; and opening RERUM, a new exhibition space in Aarhus in 2026. The association also runs a student membership scheme, a residency and grant programme, and a membership profile directory for collaborators. Its stated purpose is to develop Danish craft and design artistically and professionally, improve the living and working conditions of practitioners, and build recognition of craft and design as a cultural factor in society.
