About

EatB4 is a non-profit association based in Tallinn, Estonia working on poverty & hunger, environment & climate.

EatB4 is a non-profit association (MTÜ) based in Tallinn, Estonia. It runs a digital food distribution and data exchange platform that helps surplus food from retail chains reach food banks and people in need in larger quantities and at lower cost. The platform automatically transfers information about donated food from grocery store databases to food banks, which allows more efficient logistics planning and removes manual data collection from paper delivery notes. The initiative was developed with the goal of reducing food waste, shortening volunteer data-entry time, and reaching more people in need close to their homes. The project was started in a TalTech master's course group work and has been supported by the NULA social initiatives incubator, the Tehnopol Startup Incubator, the KÜSK scholarship, and a Ministry of Social Affairs grant of 150,000 euros. Rimi and Eesti Toidupank are among the first users of the platform. The organisation seeks cooperation with food donors, food aid recipients, IT companies and marketing agencies.
