About

Founded in 1999, EHCM-Hilfe Schweiz is a non-profit association based in Bern, Switzerland working on children & youth, education, poverty & hunger +1 more.

EHCM-Hilfe Schweiz is a Swiss association founded in 1999 that supports the work of Eternal Hope Charity Mission (EHCM) in India. EHCM was founded in 1992 by P. K. Joshua and is a registered relief organisation in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The Swiss association collects donations and forwards them to India, with administration provided free of charge so that 99% of donations reach projects there. EHCM provides holistic help to poor people, mainly children living in slums of Navi Mumbai and other areas. Its work includes children's homes, day care centres, a school, and community support in rural areas such as Her, Ugdir. Sponsorships fund living costs and schooling for individual children, and general donations are used where needed. The association was recognised as charitable and tax-exempt in Switzerland in 2008, and sends updates on its work in India to members and donors two to three times a year. The leadership couple, P. K. Joshua and Rachel, are the founders and managers. A board of five trustees oversees the work, and the Indian operations are subject to government audit in Maharashtra. Membership costs a minimum of CHF 100 per year.
